You may want to review new Authority terms before approving them, terms which are awaiting approval can be given a status of Candidate.  

You can set Candidate as the default status for all new Authority terms.  This means that when a new Authority term is created, it is automatically a Candidate. This can be a global default, or you can specify the datafiles for which you want Candidate to be the default.

Set Candidate as the Default

1.Go to Tools menu > Authority Tool > Candidate Terms.

2.In the Files field, enter the name of the Authority file(s) that you want Candidate to be the default for. If you do not enter any Authorities Candidate will be the default for all datafiles.

3.        Click on the turn Defaulting On option.

4.        Click Go.

5.        Close the Candidate Term Utilities window.

You can display <C> next to the candidate term by going to Tools menu > System Maintenance > Customised Configuration > Authority tab, then check the Display Candidate Term Prefix checkbox.

Reporting on Candidate Terms:

1.Go to Tools menu > Authority Tool > Candidate Terms.

2.In the Files field, enter the name of the Authority file(s) that you want Candidate to be the default for. If you do not enter any Authorities Candidate will be the default for all datafiles.

3.Click on the Report Terms option.

4.Click Go.
