If the filepath to your media directory (not Wincoll/IMAGES) has changed, you'll need to update the image directory field in the Customised Configuration Window. For example, you will need to update the filepaths if you move your images from drive A: to drive S:.

To change the default directories:

1.Go to Tools menu> System Maintenance > Customised Configuration > File Locations tab.

2.Click into the Image, Video, Sound, or Thumbnail Cache Directory field and click the Browse button to find the folder.

3.Choose the top level folder for all your image, video, sound, and thumbnails.

File paths

A file path is the address of files in a system. There are different kinds of file paths that Vernon CMS will accept:

oMapped drive paths

F:\History\cloisonnevase.jpg

oUNC paths (Universal Naming Convention)

\\servername\History\cloisonnevase.jpg

UNC paths require less administration on the network to work consistently for all users.

oHTTP references

http://www.vernonsystems.com/images/cloisonnevase.jpg

HTTP references link web based files with a file extension (e.g. .jpg, .tiff, .png).

Overriding the default file path

You can override the default file path by entering a different file path in the Photo/Audio-Visual Reference field. For example, if the default file path is f:\office\images\, you can enter c:\mydir\example.gif). As soon as the system detects a forward ( / ) or back slash ( \ ) in the Reference field, it will check to verify that the details are valid, and if so, will save the image as specified. If not found, the system will prompt you to correct the file path.
