The Transport/Movement Activity file can be used to record information about the transport or movement of objects for either internal or external movement transactions.
The Transport/Movement file contains fields to record movement request details, contractor information, pick up and delivery information. The Pick up and Delivery fields are linked to the Location authority file, so you will have access to all of the location terms set up in the system. However, the location details on your object records do NOT automatically update from the Transport records. Using the Transport file is a two-step process: create the Transport record and then bulk move the object(s) to the new location. The bulk move step can be set up to run automatically with the Procedural Control tool.
