Updating Indexes

The systems adds recently entered data into indexes. These indexes are used for searching and are a quick way for Vernon CMS to find information. When Vernon CMS is indexing the status line will change from saying Ready, to saying Updating Indexes...

You can set how often Vernon CMSupdates the indexes by going to Tools > System Maintenance > Customised Configuration > System tab and editing the Background Update Period field.

We recommend you have a dedicated PC for background indexing.

If you do not use a dedicated PC for background indexing, we recommend you update indexes each day.

Updating the indexes

1.Go to Tools menu > Update Indexes.

2.        To update all the indexes click the Update button. If you want to update something specifically choose the relevant index. Add all adds every field in that index, or select the field and click Add. Then click update.

Book Index

The Index Maintenance window.

On average an update of all indexes should take from 3 to 10 minutes.
