Procedural Control
The Status History table displays every Procedural Status that an Object or Activity record has had.
Future Procedural Status changes are recorded in the Schedule table. These are specific to the Object or Activity file you are in and the rules that apply for the current Procedural Status.
Although Procedural Control and Diary are distinct, there is significant integration of the two in the following ways:
oYou can assign Diary tasks for a Procedural Status. It could be a requirement that tasks be completed before a Procedural Status is changed. For example, before an object is accessioned it must have the Label and Photograph tasks completed.
oTasks can be brought to the user's attention when the Procedural Status is changed. This prompts the user to schedule these tasks in the Object or Activity Diary. For example, on entering details of an Acquisition Proposal the user may be offered a To Do List of common tasks such as Allocate Funds or Check Validity of Title.
oStatus History is preserved on the Diary file.
oFuture Procedural Status changes for an Object or Activity record can be scheduled.
