As the Audit tool logs data transactions for all datafiles, the Audit Selection for Conversion to Datafile window allows users to initiate the creation of lists of Audit Transactions per datafile. The user specifies the transaction criteria - defining the date range, users and types of transactions (Add, Delete, Change) to capture and list.
You can choose to simply see a summary report on the lists that would be created should you go through with the Conversion to Lists, or you can specify the generic name of the list and let the system create a list of transactions for each datafile represented within the audit period (and meeting other selection criteria you may have specified).
To create a list of data transactions per Datafile:
1.Open Tools menu > System Maintenance > Audit > Convert to Datafile Lists.
The Audit Transactions for Convert to Datafile Lists window will appear.
2. You can specify details about the file, the records, the user(s), the date and time range and the transaction type (Add, Delete, Change) you wish to report on.
3. Specify the name you would like the lists to be saved with – i.e "AuditJune2001".
The system will append this name with the appropriate filename (e.g. AUDITJUNE2001.OBJECT) for each file.
4. Click GO to run the report.
To access the lists of data transactions in each datafile:
1.Open List Manager for any of the files you wish to access transaction lists for.
2.Go to the Lists menu and select Get Saved List to access the Portfolio.
3.Open the specific list you require - it will have the name specified in the process "To create a list of data transactions per Datafile" above.
