The datafiles table is part of the Web Messenger Configuration window.
Datafile column
•Lists the files that Web Messenger will capture.
•For Vernon Browser, you should only list these files:
oObject
oPerson
oExhibition Venue
oTopic
oPhoto/Audio-Visual
•You can then use either the Flag Field or Saved List column to determine the records that Web Messenger should publish on the listener.
Flag Field column
•Specifies which field you are using in a record to tag it as being publishable. This can be a user symbolic field if you have more complex data requirements for when a record is published.
•Makes it easier to remove records from the listener.
•Web Messenger will capture messages about changes to the Flag Field.
•For example, you can remove a Published Collection from the Published Collection authority field in the Object file so that the field is blank. Web Messenger will capture a message telling the listener to remove that record from Vernon Browser.
•For Vernon Browser, any files that have no Flag Field will have all records published.
•In the Flag Field you are using in your Object records, you will use the Browser Collection authority file to select which Browser Collection you want to associate with the Object record you are working in.
Saved List column
•Specifies a Saved List of records that the listener uses to determine which records to keep, ignore or remove.
•If you use a Saved List instead of a Flag Field, Web Messenger captures messages for all records.
•Web Messenger processes records that are not on your Saved List as 'Delete' messages. The listener ignores or removes records that are not on the Saved List.
•You don’t need to use a Saved List for Vernon Browser. That’s because the objects are defined in the Browser Collection records for the Browser Configuration.
Argument column
•Records additional parameters that are specific to the datafiles.
•For example, Vernon Browser 4.x and later (with WM_MODULE_XML packager) uses this column to identify the Saved Report (by Portfolio ID) associated with each datafile.
