Edit the Layout of a Word Merge Report
The above steps are also effective for editing a Word Merge report. However, to edit the layout or style (or insert a new field) of a Word Merge report you will need to edit the Layout Document. You can either edit the document directly (by opening the template in word and saving it), or you can use Vernon CMS to modify the Word Merge report.
1. Complete steps 1-3 from the above instructions. If you want to add fields to your report, select these new fields now.
2.Click the Formatting Options button.
3.Check the Modify Layout Document checkbox.
4.Click on the Run the report button.
5.Click on the Screen button.
6.The template document will open and you can edit it.
7.If you are inserting new fields, click on the Merge Field button, under the Mailings Ribbon, you will see a drop-down list of all the available fields and you can select the new fields to add in.
8.Save your report as a Word Macro Enabled Template and close the window. When you next open the template, the changes will have been made.
