A variety of valuation settings are available. These can be accessed by going to Tools > System Maintenance > Customised Configuration > Date & Geography tab.
If no Internal Value is entered, use Insurance Value to Calculate Latest Internal value, and vice versa.
Some objects may have an Internal Value but not an Insurance Value or vise versa, this setting allows the system to calculate the Latest Internal and/or Insurance Valuation based on any of the values that are available.
Default to zero if no valuation entered
If checked this will default all valuations to $0 if there is no valuation data entered. If you leave this option unchecked and there is no valuation data, the system will simply show the valuation as an empty field in the report.
Number of days that the Actual Value remains useable when calculating Latest Valuation
This refers to how many days an old valuation can be used when calculating the Latest Valuation.
Valuation Period Dates
The Valuation Period Dates allow you to construct reports that show the value of objects at particular dates, and compare the change in value of objects between the two dates. The reporting fields affected by these dates are the Opening and Closing Valuations and the Value Increase fields (for both Internal and Insurance valuation types).
