Searching across multiple datafiles

You can search across multiple datafiles. For example, you could find all the artworks in your collection that are associated with female artists. Or you could find all the outward loan records with objects from a particular department.

How to search across multiple datafiles:

1.Select the authority field you want to search and click Next.

2.Click the Options button picture_15397. This will open another window. For example, clicking the Options button picture_15397when searching the Primary Maker field will open the Advanced Search on Person window.

 

If the field is controlled by a small authority datafile, the Authority Search window will open instead of the Advanced Search window. In this case, you will need click the Advanced Search button in the Authority window.

3.In the second Advanced Search window, search the datafile.

4.When you have finished searching click Finish. Your search results may show in List Manager.

5.Click OK in List Manager and the results will return to your original query.

6.Click Next.

7.Click Finish to view your final results.
