Accession Number formats vary widely from institution to institution and you will obviously have to decide on an Accession Number structure for group and member objects that best suits your collection.
Consider the following:
ofor a Superior Group Object (e.g. The Prescott Albums): 1997.9.1-3
ofor the Group Objects (e.g. the three individual photo albums making up this set): 1997.9.1, 1997.9.2 and 1997.9.3
ofor the objects (e.g. the individual photographs from each album): 1997.9.1.1, 1997.9.1.2, 1997.9.1.3 etc.; 1997.9.2.1, 1997.9.2.2, 1997.9.2.3 etc.; and 1997.9.3.1, 1997.9.3.2 etc.
