The Field Usage Count tool gives you information on:
oThe overall number of fields in a datafile.
oWhich fields are and are not being used.
oThe number of records using each field.
oThe total number of records in the datafile.
oThe FMC number and internal field name of each field.
Run a Field Usage Count Report
1.Go to Tools menu > Utilities > Field Usage Count.
2.Choose a datafile to run the report on in the File Name field.
3.If you want to limit the report to a saved list of records, specify this in the List Name field. Leave the List section blank if you want to report on the whole datafile.
4.If you want to report on unused fields, check the Show Unused Fields checkbox.
5.Choose to send the report to the screen, to a printer, or to be shown in a table. If you choose the Table option, you will have further options to export the information to Excel for reporting.
6.Click OK to run the report.
The Field Usage Count report may take a few minutes to run depending on how many records there are in your system.
