To Disallow a Process for a Group

1.Go to Tools menu > System Maintenance > Security.

2.Click on the Groups button.

3.Use the Search bar to open the Group record you want to disallow Processes for.

4.Click the Disallow Explicit Processes button in the bottom right of the window.

5.Select all of the Processes you want to disallow (e.g. to disable access to Bulk Move, you could choose the Menu Tools Location Bulk Move Process).
This list does not include Processes that are allowed because of inheritance (e.g. subordinate Groups are allowed that Process).

6.Click OK.

7.Save and close the Group record.

To Allow a Process for a Group

1.Go to Tools menu > System Maintenance > Security.

2.Click on the Groups button.

3.Use the Search bar to open the Group record you want to disallow Processes for.

4.Click the Allow More Processes button in the bottom left of the window.

8.Select all of the Processes you want to allow (e.g. to allow access to XML Import, you could choose the Menu Tools XML and Menu Tools XML Import Processes).

9.Click OK.

10.Save and close the Group record.

 

If the Process you want to allow or disallow does not appear, that Process may already be allowed (or disallowed) for that Group. You can check this by viewing Process security.

Some Processes may not be secured in your copy of Vernon CMS, if you would like to add security for a specific Process, contact us at support@vernonsystems.com.

To Allow or Disallow a Process for a User

We recommend that all Process security is managed at Group level, not per User.

1.Go to Tools menu > System Maintenance > Security.

2.Click on the Processes button.

3.Click on the Advanced Search button to see a list of all Processes.

4.Select the Process you want to allow or disallow access for and click OK.

5.Click the Add button next to Additional Users to allow a User rights to that Process. Click the Add button next to User Disallowed to disallow a User rights to that Process.

6.Select the User and Click OK.

7.Save and close the record.

Require a password for a Process

1.Go to Tools menu > System Maintenance > Security.

2.Click on the Processes button.

3.Click on the Advanced Search button to see a list of all Processes.

4.Select the Process you want to add a password for and click OK.

5.Tick the Password Required checkbox in the top of the Process Security window.

6.Save and close the record.
