Printing images as part of a Listing Group (Down the Page) report

You can include images with records in a Listing Group (Down the Page) report by ticking the Images checkbox in the Format window in Reporting.

On the Page Settings tab of the Format window, you can choose to include Captions Primary images only, and specify whether you would like to use Original, Thumbnail or Derivative images. You can also include or exclude images based on their Public Access Level.

If you are using Original or Derivative images, you can also increase the size of images in your report by increasing the width of the Image column.

Images

Other image checkboxes are now available.

Caption

A caption will display beneath images - showing data from the Caption field in the Photo/AV file for the image record.

Primary Only

Only the first image attached to each record included in the report will display.

Original

Original images will be used in the report.

Note that this will not result in a full scale image. Instead, your original images will be resized to fit the space allocated to images (as specified in the column proportions section of the Layout tab).

When using original images in a Down the Page report, your images will be of a higher quality, however the file size of your report may be significantly larger than if you were to use derivatives or thumbnails.

Thumbnail

Thumbnail images will be used in the report.

Images will be of a lower quality than if you were using original images, but the file size of your report will be significantly smaller.

Note: If you are creating a report with a large number of images, using thumbnails may mean the report will take less time to generate.

Derivative

Derivative images will be used in the report.

You may wish to use derivatives in a Down the Page report if using the original images results in a report that is too large, and thumbnails are not of a high enough quality.

Note that the size of the images (as they appear in the report) will be determined by the Images column on the Layout tab.

Images Underneath

Images will display underneath text.

The Image width shown in the Column Proportions is independent of the Label and Data widths, and determines the size of the image grid below the data. The Label and Data widths will solely sum to 100%.

Full Scale

Images will display underneath text in their full size.

Ticking this checkbox will also tick the Images Underneath checkbox. Original images will be used by default.

Printing Images as part of a Word Merge report

Word Export in the Reporting tool allows you to run a macro which will print the primary image linked to a record, along with other data from that record.
