The Risk Management Activity file can be used to record the risks posed to an object in the collection. It can also be used to record hazards, either posed by an object, or in general in a collection or on site. You can use this file to record the details of an individual risk or hazard incident, for example a flooding incident in a storage facility. You can include details about the type and severity of the incident, where it took place, who was involved and what they did, and any recommendations as a result.  You can also use this activity to manage ongoing risks or hazards, for example the presence of a hazardous substance, like asbestos or mercury with a collection item, or within multiple items.

You can link Risk Management activities to object records, to maintain a record of which objects are involved. You can also link to other activity files, to more fully describe the outcome of an incident. For example, if items were damaged during a flooding incident, you can link to the Condition Report activity, and the Treatment activity.
