The Measurement Type field records the type of measurement. For example, height, width, weight, or dimensions.
Each measurement type has its own default units. For example, the measurement type of 'weight' might have grams as its default unit, and the type 'height' might have millimeters as its default unit. When you enter data into the measurement reading field, the default units of the measurement type you chose will be used.
If you need to create a new measurement type, see our help on creating measurement type terms.
