There are some maintenance or system administration functions that require all other users to be logged out. For example, upgrades, indexing, fixing GFE errors.
Vernon CMS lets you log out users remotely, and lock them out so no one can sign in while you are logged in.
To Log Users Out
You can log a User out if you belong to the Supervisor Security Group and the User has no unsaved changes or dialogue windows open.
1.Go to Tools menu > Utilities > User List.
2.A list of logged in users will appear, along with ID of the workstation they are using and the date and time they logged in. If the users have a person record with an email, you can send an email to all users requesting they log out.
3.Select a user to log out by clicking the appropriate row in the User List.
4.Click the Log Out button.
The system will attempt to log out the selected User and, if successful, they will be removed from the User List.
To Lock Users Out
All Users must be logged out before they can be locked out.
1.Go to Tools menu > System Maintenance > Security Tool.
2.Tick the Lock Out Users from Access to Vernon CMS checkbox.
3.Users will be unable to log in until this checkbox is unticked, or you log out of Vernon CMS.
