Classification

Classification is used to categorise an object, topic, or risk/hazard by assigning it to a group or set of like items.  

For example:

oFine Arts

oDecorative Arts

oDesk/Furniture/Decorative Arts

oEthnographic Arts

oDecapoda/Malacostraca/Linnaean

 

The Previous Classification fields keep any history of classifications after the classification has been updated.  You can move a classification to the Previous Classifications table by:

1.Open the record being reclassified and open the Classification History window.

2.Select the Classification row that you want to move, and click on the move Selected to History button.

3.Add Reclassification reason and Notes.

Object > Library window > Subject/Related Records tab.

Object > Accessory window > Media, Measurement tab.

Topic > Name, Description tab.

This field is part of a table including Classifier, Date, Status, Type Status, Documentation, and Notes.

Searching

Search this field with the Search Bar, or with 'Classification' in Advanced Search, or use a Select Statement.

Reporting

Select 'Classification' in reporting.

Sorting is available for this field, select 'Classification'.
