Procedural Status, Object

Scroll More

Procedural Status is used to record the 'legal' situation of an object within your institution e.g. Accessioned or Deaccessioned. The statuses available for you to use may depend on procedural control rules set up in your system. Click the Options button to see the list of statuses available for a record.

Procedural Status terms might include:

oConsidered

oPending Approval

oAccessioned

oDeaccessioned

oInward Loan

You can see a record's status history from the Object > Diary window.

The Procedural Status field should not be used for steps related to the Deaccessioning process,  this information can be recorded in the Deaccession window.

Procedural Status should not be used for terms such as Outward Long Term Loan, Permanent Storage, Exhibition Loan, etc., as this information does not change the overriding legal status of the object in relation to your collection and is specifically catered for in the Location Reason field.  This information should be recorded in the Location Reason field instead.
