When relationships are established or deleted, the system automatically reciprocally updates the complementary group or member objects, ensuring that relationships are maintained in parallel.
For example, you enter 'The Prescott Albums' as the group object record for 'Album 1, The Early Years', and the system then enters 'Album 1, The Early Years' as a Member object for 'The Prescott Albums'.
An object may also have been mistakenly linked to one group object record when it should have been linked to another. If you corrected this error by retrieving the member object, deleting its current group object record from the Next Higher Record in Group field and entering the new, correct group object record, the system would automatically make the corresponding correction.
For example, you delete 'Album 3, Final Days' as the group object for the for the photograph 'John Prescott with baby son Samuel', and enter 'Album 1, The Early Years' as the correct group object of this photograph. The system then removes 'John Prescott with baby son Samuel' as a member object of Album 3, and records this photograph as a member object of Album 1.
This saves the user having to update both objects in each instance, and reduces the possibilities of errors.
It is actually the One Line Display for an object that will be displayed in the Next Higher Record in Group/Member & Related Object fields.
The system also reciprocally updates the Level of Current Object Record field in certain situations.
