Disallow a process for a group

1.Go to Tools > System Maintenance > Security Tool.

2.Click Groups.

3.Enter the group in the search bar and press Enter.

4.Click Disallow Explicit Processes.

5.Select all of the processes you want to disallow.

oFor example, to prevent access to Bulk Move, select Menu Tools Location Bulk Move.

oThis list does not include processes that are allowed because of inheritance (e.g. subordinate groups are allowed that process).

6.Click OK.

7.Click Save.

Allow a process for a group

1.Go to Tools > System Maintenance > Security Tool.

2.Click Groups.

3.Enter the group in the search bar and press Enter.

4.Click Allow More Processes.

5.Select all of the processes you want to allow.

oFor example, to allow access to XML Import, select Menu Tools XML and Menu Tools XML Import).

6.Click OK.

7.Click Save.

If the Process you want to allow or disallow does not appear, that Process may already be allowed (or disallowed) for that Group. You can check this by viewing Process security.

Some Processes may not be secured in your copy of Vernon CMS, if you would like to add security for a specific Process, contact us at support@vernonsystems.com.

Allow or disallow a process for a user

We recommend that all Process security is managed at Group level, not per User.

1.Go to Tools > System Maintenance > Security Tool.

2.Click Processes.

3.Click Advanced Search to see a list of all processes.

4.Select the process you want to allow or disallow access for and click OK.

5.Set up access to the process:

oTo give a user rights to that process, next to Additional Users, click Add .

oTo remove a user's rights to that process, next to User Disallowed, click Add .

6.Select the user and click OK.

7.Click Save.

Require a password for a process

1.Go to Tools > System Maintenance > Security Tool.

2.Click Processes.

3.Click Advanced Search to see a list of all processes.

4.Select the Process you want to add a password for and click OK.

5.Tick the Password Required checkbox.

6.Click Save.
